Plumbing website design, done properly, costs $799 to $3,999+ and takes two to eight weeks. The same build works as web design for plumbers running one van and as a plumber web design company brief for a multi-branch operation. Only the pages and the areas change. What you are buying is a page for every service and every town you cover, an emergency route that works in one tap, a page that loads fast enough on mobile data to survive a customer with a leak, and markup that tells search engines you are a plumber and where you work. We publish the price because almost nobody in this trade does.

People search for this in several different ways. Web design for plumbers, web design plumbers, plumber web design company and plumbing company website all describe the same job, and this page is the answer to all of them.

We build for plumbers, heating engineers, drainage firms and HVAC contractors across the US, UK and UAE. You own the code, the content, the domain and the hosting.

What we found

We measured eight plumbing websites. One loaded properly.

Run through Google's own tools on 6 August 2026, across the US, UK and Canada, including several of the largest names in the trade.

1 of 8

cleared Google’s 2.5 second target for load speed on mobile.

7.8s

was the median load time across the set, roughly three times the target.

27.7 MB

was the heaviest homepage, taking 17.4 seconds to paint.

4 of 8

carried no LocalBusiness markup, the cheapest local signal there is.

Load times for eight measured plumbing websites against Google's 2.5 second target

One finding surprised us, and it is worth saying because it cuts against the usual advice. Every site in this set had click-to-call somewhere, between four and eleven links each. Plumbers have already learned that lesson. Where this trade loses is speed and local markup. The full study, with every number and the method behind it, is published at best plumbing websites, measured. None of the agencies competing for your search publishes anything comparable.

What you get

Built for how plumbing work actually comes in

Web design for plumbers comes down to seven things that decide whether a site brings calls. Everything else is decoration on top of these.

A page per service, a page per area

Blocked drains, boiler installs, bathroom fits and emergency callouts are four different searches. One page listing all four ranks properly for none of them, and the same is true of every town you cover. Navigation stays simple regardless: Services, Areas, Reviews and Contact.

An emergency path that works at 2am

The number in the first screen, your out-of-hours response time, and the areas you actually cover after dark. Every plumbing site we measured had click-to-call somewhere. Far fewer made the emergency route obvious before a customer had to scroll for it, and emergency searches are the fastest-rising part of this trade.

A separate route for commercial plumbing

A facilities manager pricing a contract and a homeowner with a burst pipe want completely different pages, and commercial plumbing is the faster-growing side of the search. Landlords, letting agents, restaurants and site managers need scope, compliance and response times, not a domestic callout form.

Speed that survives a phone on mobile data

The heaviest plumbing homepage we measured shipped 27.7 MB and took 17.4 seconds to paint. We hand-code the build instead of stacking it on a page builder, which is most of why our sites stay fast. A customer with a leak does not wait.

Markup that names your trade and your patch

Schema.org has a Plumber type sitting under LocalBusiness, carrying service area, hours and location. Four of the eight sites we measured had no local markup at all, which is the cheapest signal on the list going unused.

Trust where a customer looks for it

Licence number, insurance, trade body membership and real reviews on the page rather than only on your Google profile. Photographs of your own vans and your own work, not stock images of someone else’s.

Everything in your name

Code, content, domain and hosting stay yours. No proprietary platform, no lock-in, and nothing that stops working if you decide to leave.

Proof

Named clients, real numbers

No plumbing build has shipped under our name yet, and we would rather say that plainly than let a case study imply otherwise. What we have built is trades work with the same buying pattern: a local installer, an urgent enquiry, and a customer deciding from a phone. Those are the projects below, and they are the ones we attach numbers to.

A multi-location local service business winning on speed and a short enquiry path, same as a plumbing firm covering several towns.

Why we publish this and others do not

Every agency ranking for this search names clients. Almost none of them attaches a number to the name, and none publishes a price.

A logo wall tells you somebody paid them. It does not tell you what happened next. Ask any agency you are comparing for the figure and the timeframe behind their proof.

Published agency guides put a custom plumbing website at $3,000 to $15,000, and a fully bespoke coded build far above that. Those are ranges quoted by agencies selling the work, not neutral survey data, which is part of why they are so wide. Two questions close most of the gap before you sign anything. How many services and towns need their own page? Does the site have to connect to job management or booking software? Decide that first. The full breakdown is on our pricing page, and we have written up what a plumbing website actually costs with the real numbers behind each tier.

How it runs

Four steps, two to eight weeks

01

Free consultation

A 30-minute call about the work you want more of, not a pitch. You leave with a fixed price and a scope in writing, whether or not you go ahead.

02

Structure and content

This is where plumbing website design actually gets decided. We map the services and areas that each need their own page, then write them. It is the slow part and the part that decides whether the site ranks.

03

Build and measure

The site gets built, then measured on the same checks we ran across the industry: load speed, layout stability, click-to-call and local markup.

04

Launch and hand over

Everything transfers into your accounts. Post-launch support runs 15 to 60 days depending on the package, and care plans are optional after that.

Getting found

Local SEO for plumbers, and where it stops

Being honest about what a build includes and what it does not is worth more than a promise we would have to walk back later.

What the build includes

A page structure search engines can read, a separate page for every town you cover so each one can rank on its own, correct titles and headings, fast loading, and the Plumber schema type that names your service area. That is the technical half of local SEO for plumbers, and it is the half most plumbing website design leaves out. Four of the eight sites we measured shipped no local markup at all.

We also point the site and your Google Business Profile at the same facts, because a profile listing services the website never mentions gives search engines two different answers about what you do.

What it does not

An ongoing search campaign. Chasing reviews. Building citations month after month. Those are real work with a real monthly cost, and folding them into a fixed build price would mean either underdelivering or padding the quote.

If you want that handled, it is a separate conversation with a separate number, and we will tell you honestly whether you need it yet.

What happens after launch

You own the code, the content, the domain and the hosting account. Nothing is held on a proprietary platform, so nothing stops working if you decide to leave. That is what plumbing website design should mean everywhere, not just here: everything in your name, and nothing you cannot walk away from. Post-launch support runs 15 to 60 days depending on the package.

After that, care plans start at $99 a month for updates, backups, monitoring and a real person to reply. They are optional, and you can hand the site to anyone else instead. We would rather publish that number than let it appear on an invoice later. If you already have a site and it is the speed that is failing you, a redesign is often the cheaper answer than starting over.

Questions about plumbing websites

What plumbers and heating engineers ask us most often before starting a build, answered with published figures rather than ranges. These cover what a plumbing website costs, how long it takes, what a plumber website should include, whether you need one when work comes from Google Maps, how fast the site has to load, WordPress against Wix, why a site might not be ranking, whether emergency work needs its own page, what LocalBusiness schema does, and what happens after launch.
